Essential Properties to Look For in Synthetic Oil

The main function of the synthetic oil in an engine is to lubricate but this in only part of its work. Refrigeration or cooling is another very important part of engine oil function regardless of other cooling systems (the cooling system is a mixture of water and air). Heat generated while the pistons combustion is transferred to the cylinder liner through the lubricant layer located there in. Synthetic oil is suited to withstand extreme temperatures and still maintain its viscosity for good compression.

A good oil should prevent engine parts from succumbing to corrosion. If you were to condense the steam created in an engine, the damage would be great. Note that the oxidation is directly proportional to the temperature. The higher the temperature, the faster oxidation occurs. If your oil does not meet any of the above characteristics, it will not be a good choice for your engine. Always check the manual for your vehicle and continue buying oil that meets or exceeds the recommended standards set by the API and SAE.

Synthetic Oils are best suited to overcome the above problem of oxidation. For all your Synthetic Oil requirements, get in touch with

The Benefits of Synthetic Oil

While the joke goes that “you’d slip on both of them,” there actually are key differences between synthetic and conventional oils. Scientists in a lab created synthetic oils with molecular structures that are purer, more uniform, and less volatile than those found in conventional, organic oil. Choosing conventional oil can adversely affect not only your car’s engine, but also your pocketbook. The Superior Synthetic  specializes in motor oil and can help you decide whether synthetic oil is a better option for all your lubrication needs.

Why We Recommend Synthetic Oil to Our Customers

More Bang for Your Buck
A more stable molecular structure means that synthetic oil breaks down slower and lasts longer. If you change your oil every 3,000 miles, imagine oil lasting 10,000 to 15,000 miles. While synthetic oil can cost twice as much as conventional oil, it’s still cheaper if you’re changing oil three to five times less often. Fewer oil changes also means less time lost to maintenance and lower disposal costs.

Higher Efficiency
Less friction is created by synthetics’ purer, lighter, more uniform molecules. They are purer there are less contaminants that are impossible to remove from conventional lubricants. Because they are smaller, lighter, and of uniform size, synthetic molecules require less energy to slip across each other. Friction increases fuel consumption and engine wear, so synthetic oils help you reduce both by being more efficient.

In Extreme Conditions
Conventional oils thicken in the cold and evaporate in heat, while synthetics maintain consistent viscosity despite the weather. There are other extreme conditions besides weather that can affect how well your motor oil performs. Hauling large loads and operating equipment for long intervals of time create heat that can hamper a lubricant’s effectiveness. Because synthetic oils are more heat-resistant, they perform better in these circumstances.

AMSOIL synthetic oils are proven to outperform other brands. The experts at The Superior SyntheticAMSOIL dealer,  can help determine which product is better for you.
